Shop

Concept

Shop.

A shelf of manuals, a few prints, and nothing behind the counter. If we ever open one it will be small — things worth owning, described honestly, priced once. There is no counter today, and no till. What follows is the shape of a shop, so you can tell us whether it is worth building one.

What is a concept

  • Nothing on this site is for sale. No price here is a price you can pay.
  • No cart, order, checkout or payment exists, and no payment processor is connected to VWX.
  • The product below was invented for this page. It has never been printed, packed or posted.

Everything below is an illustration.

A listing would carry photographs of the thing itself. There is no thing, so there are none.

Posters

A print we have not printed

A workshop print of an air-cooled engine, drawn to scale. It does not exist, and neither does the shop that would sell it.

Sizes a listing would carry

Small · Large

A real listing would let you pick one. This one is a list, not a choice.

What buying would involve

Written example — not analysis output
  1. 1You would choose a size, and the page would say what it costs.
  2. 2You would put it in a basket, and the basket would hold it.
  3. 3You would pay a processor we had named on this page beforehand.
  4. 4We would post it, and tell you when we had.

None of those four steps exists. There is no basket, no processor and no parcel.

Product Details

  • What it is, in one line.
  • What it is printed on, and how big.
  • Where the drawing came from, and who holds the rights.
  • What it would cost, once there is something to cost.

Envisioned

  • A short list of things worth owning, rather than a catalogue.
  • Each one described by someone who has handled it.
  • A price set once, and the reason for it written down.
  • Nothing sold that we would not keep ourselves.
  • VWX will not authenticate a vehicle, and will not share anyone's contact details without their consent.

Tell us what you think

  • Would you buy anything from a site like this?
  • Manuals, prints, or neither?
