Ghia.
Ghia drew it. Karmann built it. VW made it accessible. Style without apology.

The Story
he Karmann Ghia represents Volkswagen's venture into stylish, sporty design. Clothed in elegant Italian-inspired bodywork by Ghia and hand-built by Karmann, it offered affordable European styling with VW reliability.
Two distinct interpretations emerged: the classic Type 14 (1955-1974) with its sensuous curves on the Beetle platform, and the rare Type 34 (1962-1969) with sharp "Razor's Edge" styling on the Type 3 platform.
The Type 14 became an icon with nearly 445,000 units built, while the Type 34 remained a European exclusive with only 42,000 produced. Both proved that economy cars could be elegant and desirable.
Italian design met German engineering in cars that valued style as much as substance. The Karmann Ghia made everyday driving feel like art—whether in flowing Type 14 curves or angular Type 34 edges.
“Italian design, German engineering — the Ghia turned daily drives into a statement.”
